We do what we do as missionaries supported by people like you.

We also prefer to give away as much content as we can, and not cloud that issue with a lot of public requests. That said, we do have specific needs that are met by people who believe the work we do has value.

If you'd like a short list of immediate financial needs, you can find it HERE.

It Comes Around Again.

We should have seen this coming, right? It comes every year, or at least it has so far.  But it was hard to imagine even a ten days ago when the mercury was topping 109.  Way back then, ten days ago, it felt summer was eternal.  Fortunately, it is not.

A gold leaf on the tarmac might look like death to some but it looks like change to me, granted change always includes a little death…and somewhere in there, according to the kingdom, new life is found.

I walked out of the house at 5:55am, headed to the prayer room, and sensed something had changed.  The 70 degrees, the direction of the wind, the hue of the sky all pointed to Fall.  I’m not so naive as to think that we won’t see hot weather anymore, but clearly, the handwriting is in the sky.  Fall is coming in patches, with the intent on coming in fulness.

Years ago, we sat around a dinner table for long hours with friends in Maryland, talking about the nature of God working in seasons…how there were times of the year when His activity seemed intensified.  None of us had scriptures for it or would make a theology from it, but we all had stories of seasons.  Fall could be that season for us.

  • I met Kelsey in the Fall.
  • The first time I visited Capitol hill was in the Fall.
  • It was Fall when I first laid eyes on Zoe.
  • It was Fall when we first wrapped our lives around the twins.

I’m not anticipating an adoption or a move and I’m not looking for another wife!  But I’m eagerly looking forward to this season.  I want all the life that the death of a season can bring.

The future lies before us like a new #2 lead pencil and a Big Chief Indian tablet.  What do you look forward to scribbling?
