We do what we do as missionaries supported by people like you.

We also prefer to give away as much content as we can, and not cloud that issue with a lot of public requests. That said, we do have specific needs that are met by people who believe the work we do has value.

If you'd like a short list of immediate financial needs, you can find it HERE.

    Thanks!

High Speed Update…

I realized I’ve been classic early gen-x slackardly in my blogging in the last ten days or so, but inactivity on the blog should not be interpreted as inactivity in general.  Contrarily, it’s pretty much been zoo-like at The Compound and here’s why.

When we taped the Patricia King show a few months, they told us that it would be broadcast this fall.  Patricia emphatically encouraged us to finish a book we’d been talking about and we assured her we’d get right on it.  We then returned to The Compound and were overwhelmed with basement sewage, a shortage of cheerios, the glory of God, and the other sorts of things that cause you to read this blog.

About ten days ago, they told us that “this fall” could be interpreted “the end of July.”   D’oh.   Kelsey and I cleared our schedules (as much as they could be cleared) and got to work on a manuscript that was about 60% roughed in.   I’d like to tell you that the process was seamless, not unlike sipping lime water by a cool stream in the highlands of Colorado.  Actually I’d like to remember it that way, but instead it was a lot of hard work.

We finished the manuscript and are in the final stages of putting it all together.   Praise be unto God for a fantastic editor – one Alex Cataldo, girl of mad Mac and Editing Skills, and Eric King, the Designer Who Does Not Sleep.  The book will ship the first few days of August.  You can pre order them at TheZoeFoundation.com.

The book is a combination of vision and practical tips for individuals and churches.  I’m particularly excited about a chapter on on adoption as a new Underground Railroad and another about the battle being waged for children.  There are some how-to’s, but there are also some pretty intense concepts, including a few that are going to rattle people.  In writing it, we discovered we may be more radical than we originally thought.  It’s amazing what committing thoughts to paper does for clarity.

Also, this morning I was asked if I would guest blog next week for the Together for Adoption Conference Blog.   I’ll be doing a mixup of book excerpts and other thoughts.  Kelsey and I are really looking forward to this event in October.  It’s exciting to see how many leaders are thinking about adoption, often in very innovative ways.  This movement is much bigger than all of us.

You can look for those posts as well as more here very soon….

(Just threw that ellipse in there to give Alex a twitch.)
