We do what we do as missionaries supported by people like you.

We also prefer to give away as much content as we can, and not cloud that issue with a lot of public requests. That said, we do have specific needs that are met by people who believe the work we do has value.

If you'd like a short list of immediate financial needs, you can find it HERE.

Double Your Money on Two Missionary Families

This need has been met! Actually, we went a little over the top. The balance will go straight to the Loux family

Thanks everyone who helped put this away in eighteen hours, mostly overnight, in spite of bad paypal links to begin with! The Bohlender and Loux clans say thank you!

Note: The paypal button at right will now revert back to our regular missions income.

It’s no secret that that our aggressive adoption plan has put us in the unique position of needing two cars to transport everyone. Additionally, we’ve been wrestling the twinnies into car seats in the extreme rear of the Suburban, which is like gymnastics without the opportunity to win the gold.

The novelty of this has worn off…just as an opportunity to rectify it has arose.

Someone has donated a van to benefit the Derek & Renee Loux family . It really doesn’t meet their needs, so the donor graciously said “Sell it and use the cash towards something that does.”

Enter the Bohlender tribe. This van works great for us. It’s your basic white Ford 15 passenger van. It’s not brand new, but it’s in excellent shape and has far fewer miles than anything else we’re driving. And it will carry the whole family…

Here’s the cool part – money you donate toward this van doubles, benefiting two missionary families – we get the van and the Loux family gets the cash! We need about $3900 to pay fair market value and the taxes for the van.

Can you help us? Remember, every dollar’s value is doubled!

Note: Van at the top of the post is not the actual van, but I’m in a hurry and if the two were parked side by side, you’d never know the difference….

  1. Yay for both parties!!

  2. I wish at times like this there were other ways to donate. When one doesn’t have a credit card it’s hard to know how to give towards this.

  4. Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that our agressive adoption plans have put us smack dab into a white 15-passenger extended van as well! While not the most fashionable of vehicles, it does get the job done. For those pesty car seats, we actually take out the 1st bench (they’re all removeable) right behind the driver so that I, as an old parent, may step in (OK, heave my body up into) the van and fasten seatbelts. It also allows for the multiple grocery cart contents to be gently laid (OK, thrust with great force because I’m in a hurry and a child has to go to the bathroom) in the open area. And, one more thing. We have stick figures representing the whole family down both back windows of the van. It is priceless to see people driving beside us and watch their expression as they count the figures. Nine, ten, eleven, twelve. OMG, then they wave and we just laugh. Six homegrown, four store bought and working on the paperwork for two more from Ethiopia. God is Good! FYI, David Gilbert sent me your blog information and I am so thankful you have taken up the cause for Haiti. Bless you friend. Diane
