Regular readers of the blog know that our family is increasing in size at a rate rarely seen outside of a petri dish. They will also note that we recently moved into an old house that we’ve nicknamed The Compound in order to make room for our tribe and any other little Indian braves that happen to find their way to us.
Herein lies the problem: We have a number of projects yet unfinished, and baby #7 will be here in a matter of weeks. Given proper time and tools, I am still rather inept at this sort of things. Rushed as I am, and with the additional mental stress of the coming baby, these things will not get done if left up to me. And poor Kelsey is just very pregnant. She doesn’t belong on a ladder and has misgivings about smelling chemicals right now.
Therefore, we are calling all who will to join us for a Work Party, Friday afternoon, June 12 and all day Saturday, June 13. We’ll finish up Saturday with a massive, kid friendly backyard barbeque! This is a great opportunity to help us finish things before the baby arrives, see The Compound for yourself, get some exercise, and maybe even check off some of those community service hours you were assigned by the judge during that little misunderstanding.
Here are some things we need done…

If you, your family, or your small group would be up for volunteering, here’s what we need you to do:
1) Email rbohlender (at) gmail.com right away with your preferred job and which day/when available. I’ll email you directions to The Compound (5 minutes from IHOP-KC).
2) Show up at the appointed hour, ready to work and have fun! Supplies will all be ready waiting for you.
Thank you for considering helping us out in this time of need…hard workers will be awarded a pool pass for the summer, should we ever actually get it clean enough to swim in. Oh – and if you’re out of town and would prefer to contribute to the paint and polish fund, don’t hesitate to mash the donate button in the sidebar of this blog.
Shameless appeal is now over. Thought-provoking blogging will resume shortly. Over and out.
