It’s 11pm in Middle America and I’m finally sitting down with a therapeutic bowl of cereal. We ran hard today getting things done that probably needed to be done in the previous 36 hrs while I was on the road. Anyway, it’s been productive. All the chickens are in the coop minus one, and he’ll be in after consuming copious amounts of waffles at the weekly after-youth Waffle Night. I’m going to take a moment to give a few shout outs….
SHOUT OUT! to Mike and Stephanie Gerard and John and Tracie Loux! Gerards are in Atlantaland tonight with their newborn adopted daughter, Shiloh! It’s been a wild ride but she is here and absolutely gorgeous! Loux’s are in the Ukraine tonight, jumping through the necessary post-soviet hoops to adopt a little boy, Aiden, and little girl, Emma. Both will be 3 in a few months. I love that it’s becoming normal for me to know someone, somewhere, in the throws of adoption at any given moment. Mike, Steph, John and Tracie – we love you guys! Bring them home!
SHOUT OUT! to Chad and Chris from Mosaic, who walked me through Mott Auditorium yesterday morning. We plan on using Mott for a gathering with Lou Engle in a few weeks. Mott is Mosaic’s main campus, and architectural proof that the church is not buildings. Let the reader understand. Anyway, Chad and Chris were incredibly helpful and friendly, even pretending not to notice that I know nothing about sound, lights, tv, or Los Angeles.
SHOUT OUT! to my buddy Davis Hill, who fed me In-n-Out late Thursday night and met me for a Mexican breakfast. Ever hang out with someone and realize they’re an old friend? That’s Davis. We would still be sitting around that table talking now if my schedule hadn’t gotten the best of me.
Those are tonight’s shout outs. Hope your weekend is a good one…
