• Immediate Needs

    updated 8.29.11

We do what we do as missionaries supported by people like you.

We also prefer to give away as much content as we can, and not cloud that issue with a lot of public requests. That said, we do have specific needs that are met by people who believe the work we do has value.

If you'd like a short list of immediate financial needs, you can find it HERE.

    Thanks!

Because We Are By Nature Crazy People

Because we are by nature crazy people, we are moving out of our house this week.  Christmas week.  Days before IHOP’s 15,000 person Onething Conference.

Things looked pretty dark the last few days.  It’s been bitter cold and the packing has been slow.  We felt like the last Inuit family who stayed as long as they could in the North Country hunting polar bear and now had to pack up the snowmobile for the long trek across the ice back to the southern hunting grounds.  Maybe worse.

Today, the sun dawned a little brighter.  The temperature shot up to 69 degrees (even now, at 10:30pm, it’s 63).   Help showed up – not a ton at a time, but one here, two there, and we packed and loaded the Pods until late into the night.  All of the furniture is out.   We still have some boxes, mattresses and a lot of cleaning, but it’s doable.    It’s doable.

I’m very grateful for my friends who dropped what they had to do today to come by and help.   I’m very grateful to the Lord for encouraging me.     This time next week we’ll be in our loaner house, preparing to knock out walls and wreak some serious havoc on The Compound in order to make room for a house full of children – those already here, and those still to come.

  1. I love how I didnt find out you were even packing UNTIL a drum set showed up at my house for storage! UGgghhh. I could have helped. If you need help, I would love ot hear it before Im hip deep in making dinner!

Ironic that I had this same drum set BEFORE last Christmas in my basement, and have it now this year after Christmas.

  2. I feel so bad that I haven’t been able to make it over more! 😦 😦

I’m glad the Lord is carrying you through this time… 🙂

  3. Wish I could have helped. We came home to no electricity and had to relocate ourselves. Can’t wait to see the compound! Steven’s pretty handy with tools, call him up if you need! We love you guys.
