We do what we do as missionaries supported by people like you.

We also prefer to give away as much content as we can, and not cloud that issue with a lot of public requests. That said, we do have specific needs that are met by people who believe the work we do has value.

If you'd like a short list of immediate financial needs, you can find it HERE.

Big Bad Coffee and TheCall Amish Country

I am sitting on the couch, savoring a cup of coffee this morning and realizing it’s been a while since I’ve done so. Two unrelated forces have influenced this. One, we’re crazy busy right now, and two, somewhere along the line we ended up with this monster bag of bad coffee beans. I’ve been doing my best to drink my way through them, but this morning spotted a sealed bag of Starbucks in the back of the cabinet and broke the cardinal rule of home grocery management – I opened a new bag before finishing the old one. Guilty. And glad I did it.

Yesterday’s Idea of the Day hit me during the 6am prayer set. TheCall Amish Country: From Clip Clop to IHOP. One of my team members, Ben, had a great question though: How would you promote it? Internet banner ads probably have a very poor Amish click through rating. Buggy bumper stickers? I’m stuck, but I think the whole team gets those cool, button up, zip-no-evil cotton pants.

One more thing – in the Good Help is Hard to Find Department, check this out:

(CNN) — A man who rescued a co-worker from the jaws of a crocodile in northern Australia also accidentally shot him in the process, police said.

Next time he yells for help, he’ll be very, very specific.

  1. The Call Amish Country!
    Come on….
Let’s do it… I know you are sort of joking, but I’m not.
    How about Harrisburg, PA?

  2. We’re counting on Tracie to head up the TheCall Quilting Bee.

  3. You gotta call the Amish revival folks.

  4. I have made ONE quilt square once in my life. Notice I said “ONE” quilt square. It was turned into a pillow, not a quilt.

    Sorry I’m no help

  5. Tracie…that would be a pillow square then. Sort of a micro quilt for the noggin.

I wonder if the Amish revival folks quilt their own modesty cloths in case one of them takes a half gainer over a pew while wearing a skirt.

    I just wonder.
