We do what we do as missionaries supported by people like you.

We also prefer to give away as much content as we can, and not cloud that issue with a lot of public requests. That said, we do have specific needs that are met by people who believe the work we do has value.

Bad Headlines Make Bad News

Not to be picky, but bad headlines are a pet peeve of mine. As I look at it, the headline writer has about eight words to make me want to read more or move on. It’s no time to be cute or coy. Just tell me in plain english what the story is about.

CNN is notorious for dumb headlines. I’ve noticed that with CNN’s site redo, the headline copy has not gotten any better. In fact, it’s a haven for the brief but boneheaded sentence.

CNN’s not alone though. Tonight I wandered over to MSNBC where I saw this gem. I’m still not sure what a Half Kid is, but at least one of their poles has been misdiagnosed.

  1. So, let me get this straight. These kids (half kids) are actually whole kids? How do you mess up that diagnosis. I mean, it’s pretty much a visual thing, right? Sheeesh!
